What is the building energy efficiency rating certification system?

It is a certification system in the field of buildings to induce the expansion of buildings with high energy performance and effective energy management, and provides accurate information about the energy used in buildings to all stakeholders related to the building, such as the building owner, residents, building managers, and contractors. The goal is to induce effective building energy management.

Certification Type

  • Preliminary Certification:
    Energy efficiency class certification based on the results evaluated through the design book

 

  • Main Certification:
    Energy efficiency class certification through book evaluation and field inspection

Certification Target

Residential Buildings:
Detached House and Apartment House (Excluding Dormitory)
Buildings other than Residential:
A Business Facility and a Building with a Cooling/Heating Area of more than 500㎡

  • If a public building with a total floor area of 3,000㎡ or more is newly constructed or expanded in a separate building, it is obligatory to acquire a grade 1 or higher. (Grade 2 for a Public House, Excluding Dormitory)
  • Buildings built by market-type or semi-market-type public companies are required to acquire a level of 1 ++ or higher.

Certification Grade

  • 10 Steps Based on Primary Energy Consumption per Unit Area per Year
    (1 +++, 1 ++, 1+, 1 ~ 7 Grades)
